Appearance - Bats vary in size depending on species, but tend to average about 5 to 20 cm in length (head to tail) with a wingspread of approximately 15 to 40 cm--depending on how old the bat is. Bats’ bodies are covered with hair varying in color from a light beige color to black. Their leathery wings stretch across skinny arms and finger bones. When roosting, bats will hang upside down.
Behavior - Most bats are insectivores, feeding on insects at night. Bats will frequent outside night lighting and pools where insects will be flying in warmer weather. Some bats prefer fruit, but those species of bats are not common in Humboldt, AZ. Bats are known to hibernate in the winter.
Bats tend to enter homes for safety and warmth. You are more likely to find bat problems occurring in the colder weather when it is harder for them to find a warm, safe place to live and breed. On the other hand, many accidental bat entrances happen in the summer months when bats are active and flying around. One or two may get trapped in your house while in flight, requiring them to be freed from the home.
Bats are typically drawn to homes with awnings to sleep on, accessible chimneys, or places in which to hide. They also enjoy properties with water and trees which insects may hide. If you live near a water source, have a pool, or have a lot of trees or bushes on your property, then you may find bats taking up residence as well.
While bats are helpful in reducing the insect population by feeding on them, bats are sometimes carriers of fleas and ticks. They can be infected with the rabies virus without showing any symptoms. Once inside, bats will relieve themselves in your home, and bat droppings and urine are a health risk for you and your family. Should you find bats in your house, we can provide Humboldt, AZ bat control to get these creatures of the night out of your home and back outside where they belong.
We got the yearly maintenance plan with them. Our home is out in the country where pest and other critters are all around. Bulwark Exterminating is quick to respond and their treatments have worked.
The technician was amazing! He's very meticulous, addressed my concerns, and shared some tips. The entire staff are great! I will be recommending them for sure.
The technician who came was very educative and considerate. Highly recommendable!

Representatives from Bulwark Exterminating were within the vicinity, and gentlemen knocked on a couple doors asking if anyone needed services. I pointed them to a giant wasp nest on my neighbor's eve, asked how much it would cost to get this down for this elderly couple. The guy explained the treatment plan. I told him that the residents in the home are 90+ years old, and it would be unlikely that they would sign up. Surprisingly, a team came to the elders' house and removed the wasp nest for free! They were amazing! Highly commendable guys!
Our pest guy has a good personality and very competent!
We are extremely satisfied with Bulwark Exterminating. Their office reps are very knowledgeable, and their field reps are experts at what they do. Two reps in particular are very friendly and exceed expectations. Just two weeks ago, my mom had a bad fall, and they recommended we postpone our scheduled treatment. They even offered to get me and my mom some food since the kitchen was empty for the treatment, and I could not leave my mom alone. While one of them got us food, the other even prayed for my mom's quick recovery. Praise God! He then explained to us in great detail the treatment they were going to do. What's not to love about Bulwark Exterminating? That's why I recommend Bulwark Exterminating to friends, family, and strangers every chance I get. I normally don't bother with reviews, but Bulwark Exterminating and their reps deserve all the praise. Not only do they do an excellent job and are quite knowledgeable, they also really care for their customers. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Bulwark Exterminating!!!
