Spiders in Mount Prospect, Illinois vary widely in size, color, and shape, but they all have eight legs and two body segments: a cephalothorax and an abdomen. Commonly found spiders may range from small and brown (like the common house spider) to larger and more colorful (like the black and yellow garden spider).
Most spiders are solitary creatures, except during mating or when a female is guarding her eggs or young. It is uncommon to find spiders living in groups unless there is an abundant food source that draws multiple individuals to the area.
The vast majority of spiders in Mount Prospect, Illinois are harmless and prefer to avoid humans. However, species like the black widow and brown recluse can pose health risks with their bites, which require medical attention due to their venom.
Spiders can enter homes through windows, doors, vents, and any other small openings. They can also be accidentally brought in on plants, firewood, boxes, and other items that are moved into or near the house.
While spiders are generally beneficial due to their role in insect control, the presence of venomous spiders or a large number of any type of spider can be distressing and pose health risks. Greenix provides effective treatments to manage spider populations safely.
Yes, natural predators such as birds, wasps, and other spiders can help control spider populations, but in many cases, these are not sufficient to manage an infestation inside a home. Professional pest control is often necessary for complete control.

Phenomenal service! Great job!
Our house is totally free of pest!
After we called to set up an appointment, the Greenix rep was out to our home within a couple of hours. Not only did he treat our home thoroughly, but he explained each and every step in great detail.
After using Greenix for some time, I have to admit that service was not as consistent as I would have hoped. Some reps just go through the motions, while some go above and beyond what's expected. However, the most recent rep who came out was by far the best among them. He did a really thorough treatment of my home for ants, silverfish, and spiders. He even knocked off all the cobwebs. I can also say for sure that their treatment works because they last just about when my next service is due.
A few years ago, I used a different pest control company for my carpenter bee problem. The nest was 30 feet high, and they treated the ground, which obviously DID NOT WORK! Most of the damage done was to our savings, $3k to be precise. But when I called Greenix, they treated it the right way--by spraying the perimeter and then doing a re-treat in case of further activity. We just couldn't be happier with Greenix.
Reps are very informative and always respectful. Great service, Greenix. Thanks!
