A Home Protection Plan from Greenix is an essential investment for Okemos homeowners looking to prevent costly and stressful pest problems. Rather than dealing with infestations after they occur, a proactive plan keeps pests from ever gaining a foothold in your home.
Pests like ants, termites, rodents, and cockroaches are more than just nuisances—they can cause significant damage to your home and pose health risks to your family. A Home Protection Plan ensures year-round monitoring and preventive treatments, stopping these pests before they become a full-blown infestation. By scheduling regular inspections, Greenix identifies potential risk factors such as cracks, moisture buildup, or nesting sites that could attract pests.
One of the biggest advantages of a Home Protection Plan is cost savings. Emergency treatments for infestations can be expensive, and structural repairs from termite or rodent damage can run into the thousands. With a protection plan in place, homeowners get affordable, ongoing service that minimizes these risks. Additionally, customers receive priority service, ensuring rapid response times for any pest-related concerns.
Different seasons bring different pest challenges. During summer, mosquitoes and ants become a major issue, while in colder months, rodents seek warmth indoors. A Home Protection Plan adapts to these seasonal threats, ensuring your home remains secure no matter the time of year.

Millipedes have two pairs of legs per body segment and move slowly. They are generally darker and have more rounded bodies. In contrast, centipedes are flatter, faster, and have one pair of legs per segment.
Millipedes are not social insects but can often be found in large numbers where conditions are favorable for feeding and breeding, especially in moist, organic-rich environments.
Millipedes are not dangerous to humans; they do not bite or sting. However, when threatened, some species can secrete a liquid that might irritate the skin or eyes of sensitive individuals.
Millipedes can enter through small cracks and crevices in the foundation, gaps under doors, or through basement windows. Their presence indoors is often accidental and more frequent during wet weather conditions.
While millipedes are harmless, their presence in large numbers can be a nuisance and disturbing to residents. Greenix can help manage millipede populations by addressing moisture control and sealing entry points.
Millipede activity in Okemos, Michigan is typically highest during the spring and fall when moisture levels are optimal for their activity outside and when they start seeking shelter for the winter.
