Utah might be known for its large Mormon population. In fact, sixty-two percent of people in Utah report that they are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But a large group of Mormons is not all this Western state has in it. The dry and desert-like climate is one of the most unusual in the country. Plus, no one can argue with the majestic Rocky Mountains that run through Utah.
In terms of animals, Utah has the most common ones for their specific climates. For example, in the mountains you will find bobcats and coyotes. In the desert areas, you will likely see the desert tortoise, Gila monster, and chuckwalla. Dry, arid air does not remove all pests in Utah. When you visit, look out for spiders, wasps, ants, rodents, and box elder bugs.
